Following a successful two-month program in autumn 2024, CDP will offer intensive two-day workshops in 2025.

The CDP program focuses on learning through play and exploration, blending playful activities with studies of body movement, site-specific work, object performance, and neurodivergent expression.

CDP's mission is to create a nurturing and imaginative environment for low-income freelance artists. The program provides high-quality education and hands-on experience comparable to prestigious higher education institutions.

CDP is a co-created, artist-led platform hosted by Attila Andrási and Franziska Böhm.

Workshop objectives

  • Explore connections through heightened sensory awareness, guided playful exercises, and open-ended experimentation in movement and space
  • Create expressive choreographic miniatures and short-form sequences on vinyl flooring, emphasizing the relationship between surface texture and movement quality
  • Develop a rich personal movement vocabulary through exploration of stimming patterns, tactile responses, and rhythmic body awareness exercises
  • Craft authentic solo choreographies that reflect individual artistic voice while developing sustainable, body-conscious movement practices that support long-term artistic growth

The workshops overview

June 14 from 10AM - 5PM

Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) and ‘Palpable’

facilitated by Franziska Böhm and Sofia Pomeroy

Morning class

Within this workshop I will be teaching Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) class 3 in the morning. SRT is an approach to dance, movement and creative process that has evolved from the simple principle that when we are releasing physical tension, we can move with greater freedom, power and articulation. It is a playful and generous approach to dancing. Developed in the 80s in the US by Joan Skinner, SRT has a set of 15 introductory classes which consist of poetic imagery, supported by music and some partner graphics (using guided touch). Each class ends with a few moments of writing or drawing.

Afternoon workshop with ‘Palpable’

Aiming to open subtle pathways for connection, grounded in a shared discovery of the vinyl dance floor as an active and shape shifting participant, we will focus on duet and group work in the afternoon. ’Palpable’s’ creative methodology draws on floor work, partnering, SRT, instant composition, soundwalking and site-specific processes. Our recent residency in the desert in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, has left traces on the movement vocabulary, improvisational movement scores and the vinyl floors. In this workshop we will investigate how this resonates in the here and now with you: enveloping into rolling, folding into listening, walking into melting - drifting in-between places, times and cultures. All energy levels are welcome.

Franziska's Bio

Dr Franziska Böhm is a German London-based movement artist, performative researcher and teacher in London. She is co-artistic director of the performance art duo ‘Palpable’ (with Sofia Pomeroy) and co-author of ‘Sounding Sensations’ praxis (with Serena Ruth). Amongst her recent commissions is a collaborative multimedia performance, including voice, choreography and electronics, with artist Hannah Archambault for the exhibition ‘éternelles errances’ at Centre Wallonie Brussels, Paris, France. “I take great joy in building close creative partnerships, grounded in trusting the work to evolve through our personal encounters and emerging themes”. Being particularly curious about the one-to-one relationships that are cultivated in her collaborations, in her solo practice she often reflects on inter/intra-personal themes with a particular attention to the psyche, the ancient consciousness and cultural heritage. Her works take the shape of choreographies, installations, sound pieces, films, writings and drawings. Franzi is a Skinner Releasing Technique teacher and as a performer she has worked with creatives such as Lizzy LeQuesne, Joachim Hamou and Duto Hardono amongst others.

Palpable's bio

Palpəb(ə)l (est. 2023) is a performance art duo by Franziska Böhm (Germany) and Sofia Pomeroy (Spain), working across contemporary dance, film, installation, and visual arts. Their practice creates intimate, embodied experiences through a somatic, research-led approach. Originating from a commission with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, their debut at Southbank Centre led to expanded work in site-specific and multimedia performance. Drawing from backgrounds in Music, Psychology, and Contemporary Dance, their work explores themes of sociology, phenomenology, and place. Each project responds to the bioregion they inhabit, using listening, witnessing, and instant composition as core methodologies. They have collaborated with artists Abdessamad El Montassir and Jayesh Sharma and are currently working on their film project 'Mirage'.

Body Percussion: Composing Through Stimming

facilitated by Attila Andrási

This practice-based workshop explores stimming movements as an appearance for neurodivergent-informed choreographic practice. Through partner work, participants discover and develop delicate tactile rhythm patterns, creating rich embodied experiences. Attila guides participants in translating these partnered tactile experiences into individual movement vocabularies, emphasizing each person's unique physical tendencies. This approach honors neurodivergent ways of moving while building complex choreographic structures. Through careful facilitation, participants develop versatile, non-representative solos that maintain the authenticity of their original embodied experiences while practicing sustainable choreographic movement.

Attila's bio

Attila is a Hungarian practice-based PhD researcher at University of the Arts London, exploring "minor gesture" as a manifestation of neurodivergent ways of knowing through choreographic-performance practice. After graduating from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, he earned an MFA with distinction from Trinity Laban. He has completed research residencies at Roca Umbert de les Arts, Desembre en Dansa Festival, and Lake Studio Berlin (2019–2023). His work has been showcased at major European venues and festivals, including Festival 10 Sentidos, Sismógraf Festival, and Resolution Festival. His projects receive support from the Hungarian National Dance Theatre, Hungarian National Cultural Fund, and Arts Council England. Since 2017, he has led contemporary dance training, performance practice workshops, and labs across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
